Gildan T-Shirt Size Chart and Fit Guide

Find model-specific Gildan shirt measurements below, including Heavy Cotton 5000 and Softstyle 64000. The size letters alone do not tell you which model will fit. Compare flat chest width and body length with a shirt you already wear.

5000 is Heavy Cotton; 2000 is Ultra Cotton

Gildan's model numbers identify different garments. The 5000 is Heavy Cotton, while the 2000 is Ultra Cotton. The current manufacturer guide lists the same nominal adult width and length for those two styles, but that does not make their fabric or construction identical. Check the model number when comparing an older size chart or placing another order.

How to measure a Gildan shirt

1. Lay the shirt flat and smooth the fabric without stretching.
2. Measure across the chest beneath the armholes for flat width.
3. Measure from the high shoulder beside the neck opening to the bottom hem for body length.
4. Compare both dimensions with the chosen model. A 20-inch flat width is a shirt dimension, not a recommendation for a 20-inch body chest.

Do Gildan shirts run big or small?

Use dimensions and your preferred fit rather than a blanket recommendation to size up. Several adult sizes in the 5000 and 64000 charts have the same nominal width and length, yet the garments can feel different because those two numbers do not describe the whole cut, fabric, or sleeve shape. A sample is useful when an exact fit matters. Published measurements are not results of our own wear testing.
